Each year, following the completion of exams, our students embark on a clinical observer ship at Gyumri Medical Centre. This essential component of their education offers invaluable hands- on experience, allowing students to apply the knowledge they have gained in the classroom to real-world medical situations. From the third year onwards, observer ship become a compulsory part of our students’ journey , continuing trough to their sixth year.

During the observer ship, students engage in a variety of clinical activities designed to enhance their practical skills and deepen their understanding of patient care. Under the guidance of experienced consultant’s , students participate in:

  • Patient Shadowing: By closely observing our consultants, students gain insights into the nuances of patient’s interaction, diagnosis, and treatment. This shadowing experience is crucial in developing a holistic understanding of medical practice.
  • Hands-on Training: Students have the opportunity to assist in basic medical procedures, enhancing their technical skills and building confidence in a controlled, supervised environment.
  • Clinical Discussions: Regular discussions and debriefing sessions with consultants and peers foster a collaborative learning environment, encouraging students to ask questions. Share observations, and engage in critical thinking.
  • Operation theatre exposure: Students also have the opportunity to observe surgeries, witnessing first- observe surgeries, witnessing first- hand the intricacies of various surgical procedures.
  • Critical Care Units: Our students spend time in critical care units, including the cardiac care unit, where they observe the management of critically ill patients. This exposure is essential for understanding the complexities of patient care in high stakes environment.
